Symbia founder, Jim Smith, like so many others, answered the call for help with a donation of $2,500 to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.

Harvey, which came ashore on August 25 as the most powerful hurricane to hit Texas in more than 50 years, has killed an estimated 50 people, displaced more than 1 million and damaged some 200,000 homes in a path of destruction stretching for more than 300 miles.
The storm left much of Houston, the nation’s fourth largest city, under water and thousands in shelters and without power.

We continue be amazed by the countless stories of good samaritans who are helping save lives — from “Mattress Mack” who offered his chain of mattress stores as emergency shelters to the workers trapped inside a bakery who decided to bake sheets of pan dulce to feed the storm victims, not to mention the hundreds of others who have rescued animals and helped deliver babies.

Now, with Hurricane Irma on its way out and Hurricane Jose on deck, it will take support of Americans from all over to repair the destruction these storms have left behind. For more on how you can help, visit Flash.org/hurricanestrong.
